How to record in a commercial setting
Clear framing, natural pacing, and real work on the job. Every time.
Best Practices
Framing & Camera
- Shoot in landscape orientation, rear main camera only.
- Record at 1080p / 30 FPS or higher. Most phones already default to this. Check Camera app > Settings > Video Resolution.
- Frame the full task. Keep your hands, tools, and work area in view.
Motion & Pacing
- Move at a natural pace. Never sped up, slowed down, or staged.
- Keep your hands visible for most of the recording (70% or more of the time).
- Hold the phone steady. Avoid shaky, handheld motion.
- Capture one complete task from start to finish. No repeated or assembly-line motions.
Audio & Lighting
- Leave the audio on. Normal background sound is expected.
- Keep lighting steady and consistent from start to finish.
- Avoid very dark, blown-out, or shifting exposure.
Device & Format
- Record only on an eligible device. See the current list
- Don't edit the footage or upload from a desktop site. Speak with the data agent for transfer.
- Confirm the footage is sharp and in focus before you submit.
Content & Length
- Only record real, valuable work. Nothing staged or fake.
- Each recording runs 1 to 60 minutes. About 20 minutes is the sweet spot.
- Upload every 15 to 20 minutes. Confirm uploads before you delete local copies.
